About Me

My name is Carrie-Ann Burns, and caring for animals has been one of the most constant and meaningful parts of my life. With over 20 years of experience—including officially providing care through websites like Rover since 2017—I’ve had the privilege of supporting pets of all kinds, from the most adventurous to the most sensitive. Over the years, I’ve shared my life with an incredible variety of animals—dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, fish, frogs, and even tarantulas. I currently share my home with three rescue bunnies, one of whom is disabled, and a tarantula. Each has taught me invaluable lessons about patience, adaptability, and unconditional care.
 

 

My work is deeply rooted in compassion and respect for animals of every background, stage of life, and personality. I have a special affinity for pets who need extra understanding, whether that means seniors, rescues, or those navigating physical differences. I approach every animal with patience, empathy, and gentle consistency, adapting to their unique energy and communication style. My goal is always to create an environment of calm and reassurance, where pets feel safe, seen, and emotionally cared for until their families return home. I also believe animals thrive when their emotional and physical needs are both honoured. Whether that’s through long walks, quiet companionship, enrichment-based activities, or thoughtful support for pets who are shy, anxious, or reactive, I offer care that is tailored to each individual. Every visit or stay is guided by their pace, their personality, and what makes them feel most at ease.
 

 

Beyond animal care, I’m an active, outdoors-focused person who loves connecting with nature. Hiking forest trails, sitting by waterfalls, and observing wildlife bring me peace, and I often integrate these restorative experiences into my time with pets when it suits them. I’m also passionate about photography, capturing authentic, candid moments that celebrate the bonds between humans, animals, and the natural world.
